UPDATE OF NURSING PRAC LIFE......

prac has been up and down

it has only been 2 days but i have already seen/experienced heaps.

first day was awesome, had a good buddy nurse and she was nice n happy n bubbly and easy to talk to and explained something to me. i got to do some iv infusions ( mixing drugs and antibiotics in a little bag to hang up to be fed thru a small tube to the patient ), wound care, sub-cuts (mini injections) heaps of obs, some showering, helped a VR patient (vancomycin resistant enterococcus...a virus thats non curable stays with u and effects immunocompromised very young and very elderly people..some healthy pple can get it also....gets transfered to another person by contact with patient or equipment the patient uses..... can remain an unknown carrier)

uhm what else..... jst general caring, making some beds, showering, helping with patient care etc....
so yeh that day was good... pumped up for the next day...

HAD A CRAP NURSE TO FOLLLOW
therefore = crap day

where i didnt learn/get taught nething, had to deal with nurse who was not really caring towards patients, didnt do her job properly and took shortcuts, rude to some other nurses...palming off the hardwork to me...while she just walked around and talked and had coffee while working...

yeh so wasnt such an awesome day but my other student nurse friend had an even worse time, where her nurse she was following was massively rude/non caring/ignoring my friend. geez....

newai the things i did were quiet......bad that i couldnt eat...
i had to do showers, which is fine but... this 1 doode was incontinent so had to clean his..... "discharge of bodily waste" from his ass and it was actualy on the bed also.. "whew" couldnt breath much.. and impossible to move... so gee thanks nurse for helping me.. NOT...even said shed get a towel for me but bluntly stuck her head in and said "sori i didnt bring a towel.. i forgot"... gosh! nurse was also swearing and rolling eyes wen the patient asked for some stuf...

this is exactly what puts me off nursing, some nurses who just comie to get paid, do as little as they can and then leave without caring about the patient or dealing with any problems

at least there was a good thing that happened today, where i got to see a vascular xray and i also built my relationship with some of my patients, talking to them and really offering anything i can do to make their life more comfortable in a hospital. which i believe is second to most important about being a nurse...., this 1 old lady actualy held my hand really tightly and said thank you soo much for just listening and talking to me....*tear

i hope i dont bcome an old/anoyying/stern/ non caring/non interested and plain bored nurse in the future.

:D......so in a lighter note..

hopefuly 2moro brings a new day or learning and developing my nursing skills :D

so

today i was standing in the bus right, minding my own business, on my way to uni in the morning......lookin at the preety view outside the window.

THEN SUDDENLY

i feel a poke in my butt.......im like" WHAT THE FREAK WAS THAT " in my head

and i loooked down and noticed a knee.

i was like" oh mannnnnnnnnnnn grossoooooooo" "the person is prob thinking "eew grosso my knee poked a random butt"

then i thought " oh man, the person is prob way embarrased as me" " UNLESSSSS IT WAS SOME SEEDY SICKO OLD GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! " THINKING.... oh yeh man, how awesome, my knee poked a chiks butt"

then i freaked outtttttttttttt

and then reminded myself that i didnt know if it was a chik of doode.

had a reali crappy day lined up of uni wrk.

Was in the library after finally getting a computer....sat down.. okai focus time... 1 min into that.

THEN BAM.

mum called and said ruffy has gona missing.

WAS SO FREAKIN MADDDDDDDDDD AT HER. then yeh raced back home, praying and praying to GOD to make sure he was safe and i culd find him, wa tearin my hair out..

got home.....ran straight outside to find him.. running down my area ...around the streets.. upto helawell.... down mains rd... suns burning me ...freakin sun... then i make my way home to get the car.... found the cutest whitest fluffyest most gorgeous dog 4/5 houses down

it was my 1 and only.... i seriously couldnt find the words to describe that moment..... when a mother looses her child, wen a familys hears from they child from war!!! exactly that.

I'm just the library studying like the nerd that i am and i have a really awesome view of trees and masses of houses on mountains n that and i noticed 3-4 big black birds flying across.

so i was just thinking how awesome would it be to be a bird, so carefree and happy, flying whenever and wherever you want. eating yummy juicy worms and just chilling out on branches with ur mates.... man... one can only dream.. ahhhh..**sigh**

so last night i had nandos right.. awesome half chiken meal. YUM anywayyyyyyyyy such a random thing happened... this doode that works there said he is my classmate at qut nursing. i was like WHAT THEEEE. how randommm.. any way as he gave me the hot chips he gave me FREE PERRINAISE!!!!!!!!!> SCOREEEEEEEEEEE

yeh that was a nice feeling. free stuf :P

anyway i also finished all 7 seasons of gilmore girls and id just like to say it was a wonderful series.... it gave me plenty of laughter and tears and i shall miss it dearly.

NOW im lost. im trying to figure out what next to watch. however my mums like " AMANDA, You are not allowed to watch anymore tv series" MAN THAT SUCKS. now i have to watch it late nights after she sleeps. looks like more late nights for me :D

yeh also lately i have a massive urge to learn how to surf :D

HEY

yeh so i arrived safe and sounds. whew

so first thing we did was go to the hotel and chillax for a bit after the long flight. it didnt reali feel long newai. was just 8 hrs. i managed to watch wild child (the chik who gos to this boarding skol bcsoe shes naughty...julia roberts niece or daughter or something....) and SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELLING PANTS 2. man i was so shocked since it didnt even come out on cinema. geebers. well i thoroughly enjoyed it :D and yeh watched a bit of tv...this n that... newai. had some chiken and rice and vege thing fo lunch. WAS SUPER i luv plane food!

uhms where was i..........oh yeh.. we went to look for dina. took us agesssssssssss. there are so many cafe;s and maccas tho! Shops were everywhere! every single building we passed was like a shopping centere :D yeh kinda kool aye. im gona try not buy nething :D

YAHS SOO i thought id give it another sjot

ive been watcging alot of gilmore girls lately and lemme give u a piece of advice. there are normally 6 cd's in each season. each cd has like 4 episodes normally and let me tell u that it is cheaper to rent at video ezy than civic!. at civic u have to pay 4 buks for 1 cd. BUT video ezy is 4 buks for 2 cd's! (2 cd's in 1 case) SCOREEEEEEEEEEE. yeh so whoot whoot i feel great.

yeh so todays line up is.... geting the house to myself at 12:30. (Yayers already) THEN since its stilllll overcast i cant set up my inflatable pool :( dang it. looks like ill have to do it after i come bak.

NOW im sitting at my comp starting a K drama called 1% of anything and eating a delicious meal i managed to just cook up...nong shim maggi noodles with egg and spam and a fried egg. YUM . oh man the tru genious of me :D. its a masterpiece. *tear* i guess im in a korean mood :D

OH YAYYYYYY

so i finally got to watch twilight cos it just came out on the big screens todai :D so apart from hearing the movie sucked so much and to not watch it cos its a waste of money.

I THOUGHT IT WAS BRILLIANT :D

i hadn't been this exited bout a movie coming out since Harry Potter and Twilight is this new craze!

i thought it was awesome, i was genuinely happy after the movie and was stil jumping up and down with chiken wing cos she thought it was awesome also :D ahh im so relieved... now i can rest nicely 2nite. i am already anticipating the sequels to this movie so YAYYYY.

ALSO for all u chiks out there who didnt think Edward suited his role... he plays it reali nicely...... he grows on u as u watch the movie so atm i think he is AWESOME. tee hee hee. especially in the scene where he wears sunnys and helps bella out of the car and walks together to schools :D:D:D

SO GO WATCH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I GIVE IT A THUMBS UP.

Hey Homies

So i was showering right.. in the shower.. as u do... thennnnnnnnn i decided to shave mah legs and then yah know wot.. as soon as i was all dried up etc and watching tv.. i looked down and i saw that i cut myself 3 times!!! on knee and ankle and calf. i was like so shocked since its the first time that happened to me. i was like " WOW".

Then bout 5 seconds lata i was like "HOW AWESOME, now i can put little toilet paper pieces on it to stop the bleeding!!" so i quickly rushed and did that and i looked at my work of art. cute little pieces of toilet paper bits stuck on mah legs by blood. I FELT FAMOUS. like how people do it on tv :D

what a proud moment for me :D

so was a preety packed weekend i rekon.

saturday was a beautiful ceremony of Dan and Fats wedding :D which was bootiful and the rest of da day was chillaxxxx to the maxxx... first in H's aircondition :D NICE and then YAY reading twilight. hehe.. THENNNN READING MORE OF IT :D except its the second book....half moon. i have to say tho the second book was a bit of a disappointment since nearly 3/4 had no Edward in it. :( but dont worry he was still in there in the end :D yay..

yeh then sunday was ofcourse as always a packed and eventful day... church then meeting then lunch (sushi at plaz.. hmnn yum tastes so good ) and thennnn crashing J's house to ROCK N ROLL. with guitar and drums and guitar and bass and singing. MAN ive neva seen nething like it!. such a neat set up and it reali gets people playing together as a team. until 1 person reali sucks then the song ends.. then every1 is like " WHO SUCKED AND RUINED THE SONG?" HEHEHE. so that entertained us until bout 4 then YAYY WE HIT MANSFIELD FOR SOME MUCH NEEDED SPORTS. preety much most of us played basketball since some touch players ppple were 2 lazi to play. ahem alvin...so yeh it was the besttttt. mixed game chicks n doodes playing with all their might and man the chiks can get reali comptetive and crazi! especially a certain S---Y and a certain M_Y and a certain S---E. LOL but i have never laughed so hard for so long. i was constantly in tears and stiches and leaning on some1 bcsoe i couldnt stop laughing. IT WAS AWESOME :D ne1 who wasnt there i feel sorry for u!... thenn we went off to change/shower bcsoe we were so damn stinky n dirty!! then went to eat a famous steakhouse....lil taipei... preety awesome steaks for the price i rekons then hit ivanators to bid him fare ye well and help him pack :D:D GONA MISS YAH IVANSSSSONNNN. u beta not forget to bring me back some HK gum!! YEHAW.

OKAI. so its like 2am.. friday and i just finished watching the Jane Austin Book Club movie, and its such an awesome movie :D:D:DD i absolutely lurve it so for all u ladies out there who havnt seen it yhet.. i highly recommend it!

newai.. the title is Hugh Dancy.. he is the actor that plays Grigg in the movie and he is the most awesomest character ever. IM IN LURVEEEE. he is exactly the type of nerdy/funny/intersting/weird/cute guy i luv!!! ahhh he melts me :P

todai was an awesome chik day....even tho some boys ruined it!!

we just chilled in H's pool. was kinda crap bcsoe there was no sun and the water was hot . BUT company and everything else was top s:D:D:D was soo relaxing and fun jst chillin and talking bout how white M was, my battle scars, how skinny/black some pple are and just how awesome it is to b chiks :D

yah then topped it off with NANDOS. what an awesome day so far aye!!!! but no gets even beter :D hehe... we had pigged out on icecream and cheezles. yum... i luv it wen u eat cheezles and u finish the cheezles and ur kinda sad bcsoe its gone BUT THEN you notice some cheese powder bits still on ur fingers and u think HOW AWESOME. and then u lick it up and it taste sooo good. hehe yup.. little thinks make me happy :D.. yah so we watched my sassy girl and that chik freaked me out.. shes a crazi psycho chik that is violent and unreasonable and treats her bf like crap. hahaa I LUV HER!!!.

its so freakin hot.. i couldnt even sleep in past 10:30 how lameeeee!!
i guess its a good think then haha im such a lazi bugger its not even funi!

last night i watched Cronicles of Narnia - the lion, witch and the wardrobe and i forgot how good it was!!! packed full of action and suprises and twists and turns :D:D i luvs it BUTTTT of course the Prince Caspian movie is WAY BETA for obvious reasons :D if u know wot i mean ladies :P hehehee. i can see Mr B. rolling his eyes at us :P BAHA

THENN i watched Mamma Mia and its actualy not that bad.. i normally dont like musicals but this is alrite.. songs were preety fun to sing along to BUT PIERCE BROSNAN CANT SING.. at all.. nada!! just dont do it Pierce..2 bad he is a hunk tho..

yeh well i really want to set up my inflatable pool 188cm by 45 cm so i can chillax it in.. HECK MAYBE EVEN PUT SOME ICE IN IT. since its so damn small but yeh i will endevour soon.. i just need to find a pump and i am happy to say i got a pool cover already :D its a bit big but its all goo d:D i shall take pictures wen it is readi and 1 by 1 u guys can come and frolick in it.. i dont know wot u spell frolick.. newai im bored im gona go watch a random dvd for half an hr.

yah so todai was fun :D i hung out with the mother and shopped etc.... got some brownie points. WHOOPT WHOOP

then headed to B's place and chillaxed there with some beeswaxes. nice chillin under the sun while lazing around the pool. ahh topped off with pho tai and HAPPY GILMORE. funniest movie everssss.

thennnnnnnnn TOUCHHH WAS ON :d YIPPIE. alwasys a highlight of my week where i get to run around and touch pple. dreams come true :D so yeh we didnt play 2 bad.. we played against these masive simowen doodes with tatoos and scary mean faces... haha nah jks they wern't that bad!! we drew 2 all so all is well!! i hope we can play on sunday! another highlight of my week.
